Sharon Taylor
Associate Professor, University of Western Sydney
Sharon Taylor graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1976 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Finance and Systems. In 1982 she obtained her Master of Commerce from University of New South Wales. Sharon's professional career began in 1971 when she was employed by the Australian Taxation Office - she held positions in both Sydney and Parramatta offices relating to the expenditures, accounting and finance areas. Sharon finished her career with the Tax Office as an Appeals Advisor. In 1981 Sharon began part-time teaching at Nepean CAE which is now the University of Western Sydney in the Management Accounting areas. In 1994 she accepted a full-time position with the university, teaching in the areas of finance, financial planning and investments. Since joining the university Sharon has been extremely active in the financial planning area developing the first Masters Degree in Australia. She has also been sought after to sit on many industry and professional body committees as well as on ASIC and Standards Australia working parties.
